On the 10th of September, FuF and LSU, two Swedish civil society organizations, co-hosted the seminar “Youth and Agenda 2030” with the aim to involve young people in the movement for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs.

“Agenda 2030 is all about youth!” With these words, Johan Hassel, CEO at Global Challenge, started off the seminar on Youth & Agenda 2030, which was co-hosted by the Swedish Development Forum, FuF and the National Council of Swedish Youth Organisations, LSU.

The goals of the seminar were to increase knowledge about the Sustainable Development Goals amongst youth, to inspire, to create a picture of a Global Youth Movement, and to provide participants with concrete ideas of how to promote a successful Agenda 2030.

After the introductory speech by Johan Hassel, an international panel discussion shed light on global aspects of youth movements. The panellists were Hanna Hansson, CONCORD Sweden, Rebecka Prentell, LSU, Bosco Aung, NYC – Burma, Moreblessing Mavhika, NEWAG – Zimbabwe, and Johan Hassel.

The discussion was followed by workshops during which participants developed outlines for how to reach a Wow!-moment of sustainable development until 2030. A Wow!-moment in this case is when you experience a successful achievement of a vision.

If you want to hear what the Agenda 2030 is about and how youth can contribute to a sustainable future, check out the video below! It shows the introductory speech and panel discussion, filmed by FuF.
