This study was presented during the conference “Production and Carbon Dynamics in Sustainable Agricultural and Forest Systems in Africa” held in September, 2010.

This first day of the Living Soil Forum has had the simple purpose for participants to arrive, meet, and get a sense of what issues are on the table for this week. As such, it has been only half a day of activities, where participants have met to present themselves and broadly identify and discuss problems and priorities for soil stewardship.

The African Development Bank has launched a ten year strategy to further the ongoing transformation of the African continent, where focus lies in two objectives: inclusive growth and transition to green growth. The continent has had a strong growth over the last decade, however it has been an uneven development and not including all citizens, hence why the first objective is very crucial.

A seminar co-organised between Focali, School of Global Studies at University of Gothenburg and Centre for Environment and Sustainability (GMV) was held last week in Gothenburg where presentations were made on current multi-disciplinary research in Burkina Faso on the topics of forests, climate and livelihoods.

Integrering av forskningsdata och forskningsmetoder från de olika vetenskapsfälten soil science och nationalekonomi kan bättre förklara tropisk jordbruksproduktion än traditionell forskning inom dessa discipliner, där viktiga variabler utanför det egna ämnesområdet ofta väljs bort.

On the 11th September 2012, SIANI, FAO Norden, Sida and Svenska kyrkan held a seminar called "Cash Transfers, resilience and agriculture development".

On the 8th of April Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation, UNDP and FAO co-organized a seminar on global food security and nutrition in the post-2015 agenda.
