This is a preliminary conference report from the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Conference January 23-25 at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. The theme of the conference was the promotion of sustainable agri-food systems in Southeast Asia through policy dialogue. Among the many themes covered were health and risk management, urban life development and energy.
The conference recognized that current policy is not adequate nor effective enough to cope with existing sustainability challenges in the region and that more collaboration among related stakeholders from all sectors is needed to work toward common goals.
