The SIANI secretariat is now evaluating the past year of 2023 and plan ahead for new content, dialogues and activities in 2024. We want to do this in collaboration with you – anchored in your interests, needs and passions.

What do you think of SIANI’s work and activities during 2023? What areas and activities should we focus on next year? Your answers will be used for planning future activities and ensuring that our work stays relevant, interesting and as useful as possible.

SIANI in 2023

In 2023, SIANI finally kicked off its new programme phase, SIANI 4, with a new vision and pathways for change based on previous learnings and input from our members. Within this vision – a sustainable, inclusive and rights-based transformation of food systems – SIANI’s work is primarily steered towards the recognition of rural youth, smallholders’ and SMEs’ prosperity in value chains in local production systems and livelihoods and rights of forest communities, Indigenous peoples and natural resource-dependent poor. Throughout the year, SIANI has continued to build its network and community with online and in-person members meetings, new collaborators at events in Sweden and globally, in addition to a regional network meeting in Nairobi. SIANI has also raised awareness and amplified topics around sustainable food systems, for example on water, data and youth. In April, SIANI announced a call for Expert Groups and looks forward to work with the four selected groups next year.
