Through its network and expert groups, SIANI fostered engagement in the bioeconomy sector with smallholders and agripreneurs in Eastern Africa.

In 2024, many of the young partners that SIANI has worked with over the years have both received and provided new opportunities to the network since they engaged with SIANI.

In 2024, Alnarp’s Agroecology Farm collaborated with SIANI to publish its first Amplifying Stories of Agroecology Practices and Principles (ASAPP) case study. This project has become more than just a document, it has sparked discussions, inspired students, and strengthened the farm as a hub for sustainable agriculture.

Since 2015, SIANI has collaborated with its expert groups to contribute to a holistic understanding of emerging issues and foster regional action and collaboration. Many of these groups remain connected to the network years later and continue making meaningful change in their regions.

SIANI’s long engagement with youth has boosted relationships and collaboration with young people over time, strengthening our community and opened new opportunities for young entrepreneurs in Ethiopia.

SIANI has contributed to the Swedish Resource Base, particularly in academia, civil society, private sector and the public sector, youth, as well as in various thematic areas.

The Expert Group Small-scale farmers and biodiversity in Nepal organised the topics, planned the syntheses, and invited the panels of the TV show on Krishi TV, aiming to increase understanding of the links between agrobiodiversity, nutrition and climate change.

The documentation of these culinary will enhance knowledge of traditional food recipes, increase the demand for local food plants, and strengthen the local food system. These videos highlight the importance of the recipes.
