Achieving Sustainable Development thought a collaborative landscape approach

At the hybrid dialogue on Collaboration in Landscapes for Sustainable Development in Stockholm, the Executive Director, CIFOR-ICRAF, Tony Simons, highlighted the importance of piecing together the eight components of a system (Climate, Forest, Water, Energy, Transport, Social, Food and Financial systems ) within a landscape management framework to enable landscapes approaches to be more meaningful, deliverable and impactful.

Moreover, a wide range of international and national stakeholders joined the conversation. Within the framework of conflict, climate instability and the COVID-19 pandemic, speakers stressed the need to combine efforts from diverse partners to achieve an overall better result in managing land to improve livelihoods and agriculture while also addressing threats to forests, water, and biodiversity.
