EAT Foundation is set to bring about sustainable and healthy food systems

Launched on the 17th of March 2016, the EAT Foundation has an ambition to reform the global food system under the vision of “healthy food from a healthy planet”. The initiative is co-funded by the Wellcome Trust and the Stordalen Foundation, who will each invest £3 million in EAT Foundation over the next 3 years.

Food Losses and Waste in the Context of Sustainable Food Systems: HLPE report in brief

One-third of all edible food produced is lost or wasted each year. The UN’s proposed Sustainable Development Goal 12 aims at a 50% reduction in food waste per capita at the retail and consumer level and also includes general recommendation on reducing food losses along production and supply chains, including post-harvest losses.
