Social Science Education background .Worked 15 years in the Sofala Province in Mozambique with Rural Development Project (1993-2007). Developed projects within various fields; gender, microfinances, water and productive sanitation, many experiences generated in field were brough into national policies. 2007 was recruited by SEI to develope a capacity development program for the Sida financed Ecological Sanitation Program . Withi the program 8 national or regional knowledge nodes on Sustainable Sanitation were established in different regions of the world -. An African knowledge network on Sustainable Sanitation initiated and ecological sanitation network in Latin America fortfied.2009-2011 appointed director for the same program. Madeleine was appointed coordinator for SIANI 2011.
