SIANI's mission is to lay the foundation for a coherent Swedish response to the 21st century food and farming challenge. We are an inter-disciplinary network where government, civil society, industry and research come together to address the crucial need for global agricultural development strategies that ensure food security, poverty reduction and environmental sustainability.
GRAIN recieves Right Livelihood Award
Sida's partner GRAIN were one of four recipient of the prestigeous Right Livelihood Award 2011. Over the last years GRAIN has focused a lot of their work on foreign land investments in developing countries. Through the website www.farmlandgrab.org they disseminate information on current cases. Note that there are two seminars coming up with Grain in Stockholm in December.
